Deep Saros

DeepSaros is a free UCI chess engine derived from Ippolit series (Ippolit/Robbolito/Igorrit/IvanHoe). It's not a complete chess program, but requires some UCI compatible GUI (like XBoard with PolyGlot, Eboard, Josè, Arena, Scid, Sigma Chess, Shredder, Chess Partner, or Fritz) in order to be used comfortably. Read the documentation for your GUI of choice for information about how to use DeepSaros with your GUI.
 
This version of DeepSaros supports up to 12 CPUs.

DeepSaros is now quoted in CCRL.

The old version 2.3j was listed on CCRL rating list with 3129 ELO points (32bit version!). 

The version 3.0 is higher than about +30 ELO points.

Version 3.0 is inspired by Wilhelm Steinitz. The evaluation functions have been modified to follow the rules dictated by Steinitz in the following publications:

- The Modern Chess Instructor (1889)

- Various numbers of "International Chess Magazine" (1886, 1901)

The value of pieces and pawns, is the one recommended by Steinitz.
